Kalhara Thiruppani
With Blessings of Jaganmatha, PujyaSri Omkarananda Mahaswamigal resolved to have a Kalhara Peetham for Jaganmatha. With the grace of Samastha Guru Parampara and Sringeri Sri Jagadgurus, the new Kalhara Thiruppani commenced.
A wonderful Mantapam Sri Sadguru Shantananda Yajnalaya was constructed under the guidance of PujyaSri Swamigal and this was consecrated on Feb 10, 2109. All the deities from the existing Peetham were brought to the Yajnalaya and the regular Pujas and Homams were conducted.
Sadguru Sri Santhananda Mahaswamigal’s Prathama disciple, PujyaSri Pranavaanundha Swamigal guided the Thiruppani, after PujyaSri Omkarananda Mahaswamigal attained Mahasamadhi in May 2021.
PujyaSri Omkarananda Mahaswamigal sankalpam was that the Kalhara Peetham will be in natural stone, in Chettinad pattern. Panchavedika pillars, sculpted fully with hand works of artisans will be erected. No iron, steel or cement will be used and entire structure will be manually interlocked. It will be based on Thiruvaiyaru Sri Dharmasamvardhini Temple
We briefly look into the few important milestones, during this construction.
Sringeri Jagadgurus Sri Sri Maha Sannidhanam and Sri Sri Sannidhanam blessed and formally commenced this project on 14th May 2017, during their Vijaya Yatra at Pudukkottai.
On 12th Sep 2019, Vasthu Puja was performed.
On 20th January 2020, Chitra Vaana Shila Nyasa Prathistha was performed. Sri Dakshinamurti Yantram and Sri Bhuvaneshwari Yantram were placed in Sri Judge Swamigal Adhistanam and Sri Bhuvaneshwari sannadhis respectively.
On 10th Aug 2021, Nilavu Kaal Prathista was done for Sri Judge Swamigal and Jaganmatha Sri Bhuvaneshwari sannadhis.
On 10th Sep 2021, Vidhanam or roof work, commenced for both the Sannadhis and got completed in two days.
On 20th Sep 2021, Param Pujya Gurudev Sri Sri Ravi Shankar visited Sri Bhuvaneswari Pitham, offered prayers and wished early completion of the Thiruppani.
On 10th December 2021, the work for moolasthana vimana gopuram of Sri Bhuvaneshwari & Sri Judge Swamigal sannadhis commenced.
The new Pitham has 93 pillars, with intricate workmanship, and hand sculpted 744 vigrahams, as planned and desired by both PujyaSri Swamijis.
Thanks to the craftmanship of RMR Sculptors team, led by Stapathi Sri Ravichandran, the pillars and its vigrahams have been sculpted in a traditional way, bringing Sri Swamiji's wish to reality.
25 pillars of the first type, at the front mandapam. Each pillar has eight different vigrahams - facing the four directions - four vigrahams at the base in standing posture, and four at the centre in sitting posture.
56 pillars of the second type, at the prahara mandapam. Each pillar has seven different vigrahams and a Deepa Mangai as the eighth one.
12 pillars of the third type, at the hi-roof area; Each of these pillars has Jaganmatha Avataram and Sri Guru Parampara vigrahams.
On 02nd Sep 2022, the pillars prathista commenced with special pujas and traditional prayers.
Nerur Sri Sastha Swamiji @ Sri Srividhya Sankara Saraswathi Swamigal was present on this auspicious occasion.
Many other Mahaans and Vedic scholars had visited, offered their prayers and Blessed the Thiruppani.
On 23rd May 2024, as planned by PujyaSri Swamiji, the Ekakshara Mantra notes written with sraddha bakthi by devotees, was placed at Sri Bhuvaneswari Pitham. PujyaSri Omkarananda Swamiji’s sankalpa was to have the Hreem mantra written 18 crore times by the devotees, in the form of Lekhana Japa notes.
As a part of reaching out to devotees in all places and sharing the details of Thiruppani, Sri Bhuvaneswari Vijaya Yatra and Anugraha Yatra conducting Dasa Maha Vidhya Mantra Sahitha Sri Mangla Chandi Maha Yagams in many towns and cities in Tamilnadu.
Sri Swamiji had visited Bahrain for Anugraha Yatra and conducted Sri Chandi Yagam; He is to visit US in mid-April / May 2025 for the same.
Devotees welcomed the Vijaya Yatra with great reverence and participated in Sri Chandi Yagams in good numbers, and extended their support to the noble cause.
The final roof slab was placed on 27th Jan 2025, signaling the completion of Kalhara Thiruppani.
With the Grace of Jaganmatha Sri Bhuvaneswari and blessings of all Gurus, it has been decided to conduct the Balalayam on Wednesday, the 19th March 2025, Panguni month Visaka nakshatra. This is the Janma nakshatra of Sadguru Sri Santhananda Swamigal.
The Mahakumbabishekam is planned for Thursday, the 05th June 2025, Vaikasi month Hastha nakshatra. This is the Janma nakshatra of Sri Judge Swamigal.
